Background

Amber Lifting solutions was contracted to erect a steel building at the farm. The project required the use of a crane to lift and place the steel beams and roof sheeting of the building. After researching various crane solutions, I decided to partner with Amber Lifting, a leading crane hire company known for their competitive, reliable and efficient service.

Challenges

– The project site was in a field on soft, uneven, muddy ground.
– The steel beams were large and heavy, and the site was in a exposed location on top of a hill.
– Soft ground could only withhold 5 tone per square meter load bearing.
– The project had a tight deadline, requiring efficient and timely crane operations

Solution

Amber Lifting provided a customized crane solution to meet their specific needs. The crane selected for the project was a Manitou MRT 2150 with fitted hydraulic telescopic fly jib and winch which was 4×4, four wheel drive 4 wheel steer fitted with flotation tyres that could be easily maneuvered and could handle the boggy terrain at the site. The crane had a high lifting capacity, allowing it to lift and place the heavy steel beams with ease. We had to supply larger outrigger mats to spread the weight on the soft ground.

The team at Amber Lifting worked closely with the steel worker to plan and coordinate the crane operations. They conducted a site visit to assess the project site and develop a detailed lifting plan. The crane operators were highly skilled and experienced, ensuring safe and efficient lifting operations throughout the project.

Results

Thanks to the crane solution provided by Amber Lifting, we was able to complete the steel building erection project on time and within budget. The machine proved to be a reliable and efficient solution for lifting the large and heavy steel beams.
